this was my first real investment into overzelling an item. omg so much anxiety. i wasn't even able to lay the last dai on ... i asked nic to do it for me. sooooo scary. i suppose for rich players it isn't as bad. for me, it was like gambling with the rent money. glad it worked out!!! i kept the +8 (which i absolutely LOVE and gave the +7 to cro. he accidentally blew his Eva Scorn :( ... hope the Pest makes him feel just a little better. i'll keep the +0 leftovers for when i decide to try for +9. :D

cro reached lvl 48 with his wiz DE BadKarma. congrats baby!!!!! he has been turning stones all morning. so far, out of 1200 bringstones he has made 759 dark (63%) to 235 brave (30%). gogogo :D

i traded my +7 brave claw for a lvl 40 brave puppy, DesertRain. for some reason, when i heard the name being shouted for sale i just KNEW this was my puppy to be. i guess the Sting song Desert Rose was influencing me. parched souls and desire. puppy and i had a happy time hunting DE cave last night.

i decided my new project is to overenchant a Maphr's Pestilence, and so have been buying several of these little daggers at 30k each. now my mage just needs to go di lots and lots to get me the dais. :)

last day of drop event (all mops have increased chance to drop adena and items) and i thought i'd log in for a few minutes to say hi to cro, not knowing whether event was still on or not ... it was. :) cro said he was making a last effort to get my surprise. hmmm, wonder what he was after.

it turns out that a werewolf had my surprise though. :) after playing only 10 minutes (and with only 10 minutes until event end) i heard some guys start shouting "please make dark cloak drop." and "we need dark this or that." a few seconds later werewolf dropped me dark headband ^-^ coool. so i shouted "thank you for dark heaband NC, great event." just in case monitors were listening. hehe

dark headband has been on my wish list for a loooong time. very cool. with a con de, my mana regain is super slow. the headband will give me +3 each tick. it's ac isn't great but it is very very light. since i overzelled my shadow mask to +7 a couple of days ago, i'll likely continue to wear the mask and switch to headband during med breaks.

speaking of overzelling the shadow mask, i've been trying to overzel things lots more recently. i bought a bzel for my new dark gloves (tytyty cro!!!) but it only went +1. Duster sold me a czel for 50k, but i think i'll save $$ for a little while before i try another bzel.

this morning i was chatting with cro from the house and we talked about perhaps spending the whole evening collecting bringstones. on a whim i decided to go park my DE in the cave to be ready to collect a few at lunch. i btele'd to my DE Cavern Bridge and ummm IS MY HP BAR IS GOING DOWN!! WHY ARE THE GUARDS SHOOTING ME?!?!?

omg what do i do? escape? which hotkey it is? omg run? ok, run ... duh. can't run from arrows. crud, i'm dead. T.T

what'd they do THAT for??!!?? i'm full law, full blue, /pk not on, i just logged in and came from the house. wth? hmmm. cro thought i should report it. it must be a bug. i was baffled. i'm sure i'd used that bookmark before, a long time ago. did a recent update bug things so if you btele'd to the spot between the guards they would be so startled out of their naps that they would shoot first and take names later?

thinking, thinking, thinking. hmmm. wait, i'm NOT full law. i'm 29xxx. hmmm. i haven't killed anyone. i haven't killed any town animals. do any of the DE spells eat law? only Dark Blind and i don't have that spell. what did i do? the only thing remotely naughty that'd i'd done recently was to pop one of SilverBolts summoned zombies. but i only hit them one time each. i didn't kill them. sure, i went pink for a few seconds, but i was blue again long before i logged off. was that it? could the guards have a bug in that they thought i was still pink even though the zombie incident happened last night? but why did i lose law? hmmm, Nyx was hitting the zombies too ... NYX!!!!

lol, i think Nyx killed one of SilverBolt's zombies. i remember Silver running around saying NOOOO and i remember Nyx chuckling with evil glee. bad Nyx!!!! BAD NYX!!!! lol. so ok, i guess if Nyx killed one of the zombies i'd popped, that explains why i lost law and maybe why the guards killed me the next morning. no fair. >.< i didn't do it ... SHE DID.

umm, nyx, can you btele to DE Cavern Bridge for a minute? i need to give you something. *whispers, get ready guards* hehehe

over the weekend i was able to trade for my first +9 weapon ever. i gave two +8 weapons to get it (+8xbow and +8gauntlet) and i think i got the better deal. the guy i traded to slapped an ndai on my old +8 gauntlet and BAM! +9. soooo lucky. :) so we both got great deals.

after selling off HoneyBee's bow, i thought i might as well try overzelling the rest of her items (since i don't play her anymore). i didn't have much luck.

HauntedEve is now lvl 43, and very ready to ditch the biggies and get her skeleton crew for more Di hunts. maybe by tomorrow! i must say, mage is very fast to lvl from 40-45 and she doesn't feel like such a stinky character anymore. since i will be going back to DE once she is 45 and only using the mage for money hunts, i don't care if it is slower for her from 45+.

HauntedEve is now 40, and with int book and wiz potion can get 17sp. lvling is FINALLY a bit easier. she has great success with tu in owl. we've been making a few exploratory trips to Dream Island and i think i like it ... lots. last night i took the biggies out for the first time, and other than getting stuck several times due to their mass enmass in narrow places, it was great. :D

event gave me an unexpected prize. :) i've been hunting diligently in DE cave, despite the lack of exp giving mops and the lack of useful harvest mops for supplies or adena. so, diligently i have been hunting in the name of event seeds alone ... well, that isn't entirely true since the bringstones are very useful as well. but, other than stones and seeds, i didn't see much benefit of hunting DE cave until ... woot! Spartoi dropped you Dark Robe.

awesome. :) i zelled it up, along with my shadow mask, and though skeptical that it could possibly be worth giving up the extra MR and dex of my elf set, i gave it a try. omg i regain hp so phenomenally fast now, it is unbelievable. 20con was fast to begin with. with the addition of Dark Robe i regain hp faster than fast. MEEP MEEP

so, all i need now is another mermaid ring, a 50mp belt of my own, a dark headband and a silver cloak and i'll be set until i unseal my ALA. :D

nic and z had incredible luck in IT last night. i am incredibly lucky to have such awesome friends. :)

the new party drop announcements are so cool. nic, nyx, ever, cro and i hunted DVC last night to try it out. so much nicer than typing out the drop announcements as we used to do. and so novel that it works long distance. fun. we hunted for quite a long time, until we ran out of supplies ... i hate running out of supplies. >.< oh btw ... the mage has been mothballed during event, so DE actually was able to get lvl 46. :D

seeds & stones

cro and i didn't play much during his visit, but we did end the day yesterday with a few hours of hunting. the nonpledge missed us :) and wanted to go to DVC, so we stocked up and headed down. i made use of DE morph for the first time this event ... but was actually happy when we got to lvl 6 and it wore off. v my real DE more than the morph. less attack lag too. we didn't get anything big, but it was a fun hunt. OctoberEve is lvl 45.68.00 now too. :) event has given me an excuse to mothball the baby mage for a few days without feeling guilty for not lvling her. i should probably take the elf to Fi for a hunt soon. funny how i feel stronger on a lvl 45 DE than on a lvl 48 elf ... but for Fi i need the elf so i can contribute to heals and buffs for the party.

long day, short night

another night without cro. that combined with my recent in-game run-in will greed and bullying left me a bit lack-luster when it came to leveling. i only played for about an hour, but i must say that the nonpledge cheered me up just by being who they are. evil and rotten, but true blue sweeties ... * **** *** guys. :) (sorc will have to translate).

cro will be here for real again soon, so nomatter how crappy i feel, there is an underlying layer of excitement. woohoo!

time: sometime after 10pm eastern standard time (i think that is 11 central time) on the LoA server.

my character name: OctoberEve

my pledgemate told me that Kazaa attacked him with para for being near the fv exploit area where Kazaa was taking advantage of the exploit. i decided to go out there to see if Kazaa was attacking unprovoked or if he was first asking people if they would allow him to hunt in the area alone for a few minutes. (i'd experienced this before ... Kazaa asking me if i would mind staying out of the area for 5 minutes, and at that time i said ok).

but this time, i was below the exploit area killing a fire archer when Kazaa and Infiltrator walked straight up to me and told me to leave. this wasn't a request, this was an order. i said "Why" and nothing more. they responded to my question by para'ing me, freezing me, and leading mops onto me which caused my DE's first death in game.

i'm extremely upset that for one, the exploit is causing players of lesser moral fiber to play bullies and order people to vacate, attacking and killing if the demand is not immediately followed. and also upset that the exploit exists at all. though i didn't know about it until recently, i have since found out that that expoit has existed for quite some time.

i'm sickened and really feel like quitting. i'm sick that i lost experience due to another player abusing the game and my right to hunt wherever i please. i'm also sickened to think that they will get away with this type of behavior with a slap on the wrist, or even less. they laughed and called me noob and taunted that i was "pwned" when they killed me. then later Infiltrator denied that he had killed me at all, since leading mops onto me isn't him killing me. all i did to them was to ask "why" when they demanded that i leave the hunting area. my DE is lvl 45, and until tonight, i'd prided myself that i'd not yet died. it stinks very much that her first death should be a result of being harrassed by bullies abusing an expoit.

please review the game history of this incident. i ask respectfully for my experience to be restored and for Kazaa and Infiltrator to be banned for a long enough period of time that they would think twice before harrassing others again. :/ i would also ask that NC take a stance on this issue and post to the boards on this site that harrassing people by telling them to leave or attacking them in the exploit area (until it can be fixed) is a violation of gameplay rules and will result in punishment.

little mage HauntedEve was med'ing last night in owl. she was in morph so i didn't feel i needed to focus full attention on game for a bit while she med. so, i was just kicking back, relaxing. that is, until i heard the para scream noise. i looked up to find a mage with skels, DESIRE, was beating on me. i just stood there assessing the situation for a sec, her name was bright red and she had two skels. i guess she wanted me to hit back so her skels would lay into me because when i didn't do anything she said "DIE."

i logged off and logged back in with elf. headed back to owl and canceled her ugly butt. she para'd my elf so i logged off and got DE. :D

with OctoberEve i went into blind hiding and walked out into owl. i soon found DESIRE. she had para'd someone else, he was trying to fight back and her skels were pounding on him. i detected to pop myself out of hide, then using +8 gauntlet with heavy knives i went for one of the skels. it ended fairly quickly. unfortunately the second skel ended the poor para'd guy before i could get to it. after he died, DESIRE para'd me, but an elf standing by watching cast remove curse on me :D tytyty! i ended DESIRE's second skel quickly and turned to confront her. she para'd me again, but the kind elf rc me a second time. i let into DESIRE with heavy knives and she pumped ojs for a few long seconds and then venz'd.

that felt goooooood. i rez'd the dead guy and thanked the rc elf. i didn't see DESIRE come back to owl, but i stayed on DE. nyx, ever, nic and i kept an eye out.

vicce said she had gone to DVC, so nyx, ever and i (nic didn't have a bow for the evening) went to DVC and hunted. we didn't see DESIRE but we had a great hunt. no big drops, but lots of fun and we lasted a long time.

it was a no cro weekend. :/ weekends SUCK when cro isn't around. but, i found myself being more chatty to strangers due to his absence and actually made a new friend in owl, where i spent lots of time with the mage. yeah, i ended up chatting about cro mostly, but he didn't seem to mind. we kept each other company for several hours sunday night as we worked on levels.

HauntedEve is now 25, which is amazing for me since i still don't really have the hang of playing mage. lol, in fact, i got called "dumb mage" while hunting Gludin wl with my dogs. i had been tagging ghouls with firearrow and a BB snuck up on me, so i firearrow'd him too. an elf (ArcOfFire) was kind enough to point out what a "dumb mage" i was for using the wrong element to hit a BB, then proceeded to teach me all about the effects of elemental damage on LoA as opposed to other servers. i was a bit rude, cutting him off mid thought, and said i didn't care to learn from someone who starts off the lesson by calling me dumb. he said "well firearrow them all you want then."

ty, i've gotten along just fine for two years without you mr smarty elf. nevermind that i knew i was using the wrong element to begin with. and no, i don't know everything, and i AM a noob on mage, but big deal. my pet peeve for the day is presumptuous, rude and unapologetic know-it-alls.

anyway ... i got HauntedEve to 25 and she can TU pretty successfully now. spell power 13 with staff and widom pot. i'm hoping she will be much easier to play in 3 more levels with another spell power boost. :)

btw, i'm so horrible at playing mage. she feels so limited to me and i dunno where to take her. she can't do anything without dogs, and the dogs are too little to do all that much yet. i've mostly been hunting lizzies for lack of a clue where else to go. lizzies don't dk and most of them are slower than i am, but it's getting very slow and boring.

it was another lonely evening without cro. HauntedEve (baby mage) worked on leveling for several hours. i stayed on Si with her until lvl 13, and then took the puppies to oren for dwarf hunting. there seemed to be a serious shortage of dwarves so i thought, hey, lizzies at ww castle beach.

that worked out well. the puppies luv lizzies. at least it worked out well until a siege suddenly started at ww castle. it didn't bother me until i needed to restock and i found out that my lizzie beach bookmark was in a bad bad spot, just under the siege zone where the flags cut off the path to get back to the lizzies. >.< well, i only needed to walk through a tiny tiny part of the siege zone, so i asked the people there if i could go through to lizzie beach and they said ok. as soon as i stepped into the zone they hit me. boo! i venz and came back and yelled at them ... then asked if i could please get through. again they said ok. i enter zone and they hit my dogs, killing one. >.< venz again. go back, whisper to two of them that they are being jerks. they say sorry, was just playing around. i say well its costing me money and ask if i can get through this time. they say ok. i enter zone, they hit pups. >.< venz. go back. repeat once more. >.< venz. and then some guy in woodbeck picked the wrong time to walk up to me and say "hey sexy." grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

after i laid into him he apologized and then i apologized saying i was just pissed at the people at siege hitting my pups and not letting me through to hunt lizzies. told him the whole story (he was a DE in Playboy pledge btw) and then he tried to convince me to join Playboy, saying Playboy was such a big pledge that they wouldn't dare hit me. i said no thanks. but then he asked me to show him where the problem was. i walked him to the beach and yay, they finally let me through. bunch of jerks. told the Playboy guy thanks then got back to hunting lizzies.

and i died :( dropped my +0 Staff of Sorcery. oh well, i don't even know what good it was so not a major loss i guess. overall it was a frustrating evening, but i did get the new mage to lvl 14 and all the pups are now 10 despite all the harassment.

Eve got her lvl on proper this weekend and finally hit 45. nic helped me with the quest, volunteering healing services. after 4 tries to kill the evil assassin master i succeeded. it took a little blind hiding to sneak past the assassin mob, get the evil master alone and wham wham wham. so sorry mr assassin, you are dead. i killed all the other assassins in the room after ending the master, just because they had given me such a hard time.

cro logged in right after i finished the quest and i got to show him my new toy. a +8 gauntlet. we have both been drooling over it for days, ever since we saw Exist shout that he'd made it. i paid only 2.5mil which is AWESOME since he was trying to sell for 4mil the day before. he said he was just about to blow it out of frustration for not finding a buyer. glad he didn't. :)

after cro and i passed the gauntlet around and played for a bit i decided it was time to lvl the mage for dream island cash hunting. HauntedEve is 18int/18cha, and as of logoff last night, she is lvl 9.

cro's cable was out all evening, so i spent most of the night in owl and leveled. my orc scout morph ended and i noticed that it really wasn't that bad hunting owl sans-poly. except for the fact that my DE's wiggly hips soon attracted an admirer. the free heals weren't bad ... i just thought it was someone being nice. but then the proposals of marriage started. :/ i lost him a couple of times, but not for long. so i teled and finished my hunt in silent cavern until lvl 42.

we did toi last night and i noticed that OctoberEve is very strong. she hunts quite well even though she's still a bit of a baby. can't wait to get 45+ ... she's going to kick butt.

tonight is fi. i'm a little nervous since HoneyBee has had two recent deaths and is only hanging onto 48 by 4%. deleveling would suck. on the other hand ... getting an ascroll to unseal my bowgun would be AWESOME.

i spent the evening alone since cro was finally getting some much needed sleep. i gave in and decided to allow a few people back in the (non)pledge. as long as they don't expect me to perform princess duties it should be fine. i didn't get much sleep worrying that i'll get yelled at by certain people, or that joining people will put stress on me again ... but if that happens i'll deal with it. there is no reason why i shouldn't be allowed to be with my friends. if other friends start pressuring me to rejoin they are just going to have to understand that i can't have everyone back in pledge or it will be revert to the big ball of stress that it was for me before. if the people who wanted me to end it all bitch at me, well ... i can't live my live for them. the people i joined are quiet and infrequently on, and have promised not to make me be princess.

i helped Kismet seige kent last night with HoneyBee. Nic, Nyx and Ever and i all joined Kismet for the occation. one of Kismet's new people stole polys off the ground from Nyx ... how completely rude. Kismet made him give them back and apologized saying the kid is 14 and a work in progress. :/ some people should just be tossed out imo.

we attacked in force to knock down kent gates, then all venz'd back to Aden Inn. the strategy was to let the enemy sweat i guess. or to make them think we weren't coming back. after a good amount of time we did go back and busted through, but to my surprise Kismet ordered everyone to WW castle in the middle of our Kent attack. VJ's pledge was defending WW so i whispered Kismet that i wouldn't be helping him with that. the response i got from Kismet was ">.< that was just a diversion." i took it to mean that WW was a diversion and they were drawing attention away from Kent in order to go back and attack and take Kent right before the end of seige.

well, i was wrong. Nic, Nyx, Ever and i venz'd back to Aden Inn to wait until Kismet turned attention back to Kent. we headed back to Kent when a few Kismet members pledge chatted they they were going there. Kent was a freaking mess, but we fought through it. my lag was giving me at least a 2-3 second delay on everything and i ended up dying to a knight as i stood my ground at the gate. Nic had been trying to heal me to no avail. the knight turned on him when i died and Nic venz'd.

i restarted inside castle. again i was surprised, and foolishly thought it to be Kent castle and that Kismet had control. i went out to the tower, which was fairly quiet. Gnome and Pelli (from Ken) said hi and i stood a bit back from tower to regen in peace. i whispered Nic, Nyx, Ever and Silverbolt (who had joined us) that i was out. my death took me down to danger zone and without buffer i wasn't going to take more chances. suddenly VJ's pledge came rushing in and i realized i wasn't inside Kent castle at all, i was inside WW castle. damn it! i immediately venz'd back to Woodbec then teled to Heine. Nic, Nyx and Ever came to Heine to meet me so we could all join back to NO. not being able to leave the Kismet pledge during war, we hung out a few minutes until it was over. Kismet won WW and i felt a little bit pissed that he hadn't told me that was what they were after to begin with. oh well. >.< all back in NO and i ended the day with a short hunt with cro. he still hasn't gotten any sleep. :(

i will say that Kismet is a very admirable strategist and give him a big congrats. but i'm a teeny bit disappointed that i wasn't fully informed of the plan. unfortunately i would not have agreed to help if i'd been aware from the beginning that WW was the prime target. i was happy to help with Kent though. :)

HoneyBee is now at 48 04%. that is now two deaths at 48. she is going to have to cool her jets for awhile and level.

Level Up 39

worked OWL for a few hours to get 39, then went to Di with cro and nic for some uni hunting (i can't hit them yet, but thought i'd hang out anyway). twin unicorns ended before cro and i got there, so we walked the island in search of other bosses. cro ended a few times to various gold mops. nic and i spend 15 minutes trying to end a gold (red to me) ice golem. i couldn't hit it and nic was down to 1 kbb. when cro showed up with more kbbs it ended fast. hmm, i want to lvl a mage soon.
